Walden Pond

The first sight I took in was the well known Walden Pond, where Henry David Thoreau wrote Walden. Here are some pictures from there. I visited there on October 29, 1999, so I got pictures of the beautiful Autumn colors. Click on a picture to receive a larger (sometimes much larger), higher quality version. Enjoy -- Jim

Some restoration is being done to remediate damage from all the visitors to the pond.
There were a couple fishermen when I was out there.
I started to walk around the pond at this point. This looking back towards the start.
A side marshy area
This where Thoreau's house stood. For a while, people would add a rock to the pile here.
Back to the pond. The view from the far side.
