Here are some pictures of Ardastra Gardens, which is like a zoo near Nassau. They also have some nice gardens.
Vietnamese pot-belly pig.
Some birds. This is a Blue and Gold Macaw.
They are famous for their trained flamingo show, but we missed that.
Baby jaguars.
More photos are available from the official web site.

Here are some pictures of Fort Charlotte, which was built in 1787 and is the largest fort in Nassau. It has never fired a shot in battle.
Some of the cannons.
Entrance to some of the dungeons.
View from the fort.
Looking back at Paradise Island.

We also visited Fort Fincastle.
The sign reads "Fort Fincastle was built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore, a Royal Governor (1787-1796), whose second title was Viscount Fincastle. This fort, shaped like an old paddle wheel steamer, was build to protect the city from invasion but saw little action. It served as a lighthouse until 1816 and was subsequently used as a signal tower."
Views from the fort.
Nassau and Paradise Island
A water tower that you can go up to get a view. The old elevator there made me nervous though, as I recall.
Fort Fincastle from above.

Here are some other Nassau pictures.
The Straw Market, offering a variety of goods.
The Queen's Staircase, carved out of sandstone in 1793 to provide access to Fort Fincastle. There is a waterfall next to it. (Composite of two photos.)
